set-up post

Easy enough: start thinking about your resolutions for next year, and then break them down into bite-sized, manageable goals! For the purpose of this specific comm, it'd be better to try to avoid daily goals - rather than say you're going to write every day, maybe make a goal that says you're going to write 3,000 words in 2k15! Keep it low, because you can always add more goals when you achieve the ones you've done, and we all know how satisfying it is to cross out things we've achieved!

I'll post a January entry tomorrow, so we can get an early jump on it. All you do is reply to the entry with a list of your 2k15 NYR's. If you want, feel free to reply to your lists during the month with additional goals if you forgot something, new things come up, or you achieve one of the goals and want to go further in that direction. (Say you write 3,000 words, and now want to add a goal that you'll write 10,000 words in 2k15!) Just don't cross anything off until the first of the month.

Every first of the month, there will be an entry on here labeled "February 2k15" and so on. Reply to it with the ongoing list of goals you have, and < strike > through those that you've achieved. Add new goals to it, if you like! But carry over the ones you've already achieved, so that you get to actually see what you're accomplishing! (This is why I stress it's great to keep them low and manageable, because it's better to cross LOTS of things off than get discouraged about not crossing anything off, y'know?) Ideally, our lists will get longer and more crossed-out the further into the year we go! =)

How does this sound?
